Well Happy Fall everyone!! I have traditionally been accused of celebrating holidays too early and that is probably pretty valid, so I have to say, now that everyone is coming on board with it OFFICIALLY being fall, I am thriving. I also always feel like there is an abundance of incredible new content that comes at us in early fall, so this newsletter is full of all the new music, recipes, books, tv, and more that I just think you shouldn’t miss this season. This one is chockfull of links so click away and feel free to let me know if there is anything you’re loving that I missed. Happy Fall y’all!! (I couldn’t resist)

Also, if you haven't yet signed up for the newsletters, do so on the right of this post!

To Watch...

Gilmore Girls (Netflix) - I KNOW! I’m so late to the game here. Don’t worry, I’m properly ashamed. But at this point, I want to live in Stars Hollow with all my heart and the nostalgia is so so real here.

Schitts Creek (Netflix) - The other day one of my girlfriends brought this show up and we all literally started yelling because this show is so well loved. It is laugh out loud funny and at just under 20 minutes, it’s perfect before bed tv.

Peanut Butter Falcon (In Theaters) - Ben and I went to go see this on a night when, truthfully, we couldn’t find anything else that looked good to go see. But guys, this movie is a DELIGHT. We left the theater so much happier than when we walked in. Don’t miss this one.

Girl Meets Farm (Food Network) - This is not the first time I have brought this up and it certainly won’t be the last. But the new season of this charming cooking show started last Sunday and it just makes me smile from ear to ear every time its on. Plus the recipes are killer. I catch this one on YouTube TV.

To Listen...

The Turn of the Key (Audio Book) - Ok so I HATE scary movies, but I can really get behind a creepy mystery book. This one is so so good. Also, if you don’t use the Overdrive app to get audiobooks from your library, this would be a perfect place to start.

Like the River Loves the Sea (Album) - Start by judging this album by its cover (because it tells you exactly what to expect in the best way), then read this article then listen to this and tell me it isn’t your favorite album of the year.

American Girls (Podcast) - For all of my fellow American Girl fans (RIP the best magazine of all time) this podcast is a retelling of all the books and ties in an actual history lesson along the way. You’ll love it.

“Autumn Leaves and Pumpkins Please” (Playlist) - Every fall I put together a playlist that captures the mood I want to hold onto throughout the season. Here is this year’s collection. Consider it a backdrop for all your Halloween Parties, Friendsgivings, apple picking dates and more.

To Buy...

Bio Oil: So even though I was as careful as possible about keeping the sun off my face this summer, I still have little bits of hyper pigmintation from sun exposure that I’ve been fighting with this SUPER affordable oil. I’ve only been using it for a few weeks, but I can already see a difference.

Moon Necklace: This necklace (that is under $12!) has been a staple to my fall outfits so far. It’s a perfect, not-too-short not-too-long length and goes with pretty much everything.

Fall Top: Ok so this is maybe the perfect example of a transition top. It looks so fall but feels like summer. And for the price point, you really can’t lose.

Headbands: Bless the person who brought headbands back, because welcome to the trendy way to take your hair one day further before washing it amr? I wear these at least once a week.

To Read...

Burnout: SO good for any woman in the workplace, this book discusses the common problems we face emotionally and how to fight them using the research. For a brain science book, it is also kind of compulsively readable.

SkinnyTaste Fast and Slow Cookbook: I have cooked my way through this one and I LOVE it. Especially if you are looking to cook a litte lighter before the holidays hit us, check this one out (and make the crustless apple pie).

Whisper Network: Reese Witherspoon has already bought the movie rights and that might be all you need to know. This book read like a thriller but made me THINK. It stradles the line between murder mystery and current cultural think piece.

To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before: And on a MUCH lighter note, this book is a dream. I always find myself in a rom-com You’ve Got Mail kind of mood this time of year and this book is right in that niche. It’s precious but also very well written.

To Cook...

Slow Cooker Party Tacos:  For all your tailgates and other big parties this year, this recipe is our go-to for feeding a crowd and hosting a taco night.

Pumpkin Chai Snickerdoodles: Does anyone else notice their desire to bake going waaay up this time of year? Because same. These were a total crowd pleaser and disappeared fast. Plus the smell in the kitchen was divine.

Perfect Pot Roast: And speaking of things that feel like fall, this recipe is classic, stick-to-your-ribs, cozy food that just cannot fail. You’re welcome.

Roasted Butternut Squash and Pomegranate Salad with Garlicky Dijon Dressing: It’s football season around here, so sometimes I just need dinner to be fast. But that doesn’t mean I should have to give up quality, so this salad is quickly becoming a staple. Plus it’s gorgeous, so you know, win-win-win.

And that’s it everyone! If you enjoyed today’s newsletter, do me a favor and share it with your people! <3 Emily
