Hi from across the pond!! I am about to head back from one of the most magical and whirlwind weeks of my life and I couldn’t wait to tell you all about it! On my Instagram, I’ve been getting LOTS of requests for the itinerary that we used when we planned the trip so I spent some time cleaning it up in hopes that it will be helpful for you!
Here are a few things to note: 1. We researched like CRAZY for this trip and we are a bit unhinged when it comes to travel so we literally walked about 15 miles a day and kept a frantic pace and STILL didn’t see everything that was on my list. There is SO much to do, so make sure you prioritize what you really can’t miss and find a manageable pace for you. 2. We flew into Edinburgh from the States and got a rental car. We used the rental car for our drive from Edinburgh to the Lake District, Cotswolds, Bath, and Stonehenge, and then dropped it off in London. In London and Paris we mostly walked (the cities are SO walkable) but also used a fair amount of the tube and metro. It was much easier to navigate than the NYC subway and extremely cheap so you don’t need to worry about having a car while in the city. 3. For your convenience, I’ve linked the stops we made in each city to customized Google Maps that are linked in the Google Doc. This should help you map out what order you want to do everything. 4. If you have questions as you read or want to know my take on what you should prioritize, just reach out! You can find me @joyfulnoiseteaching on Instagram. Ok so at this point, we are not new to planning Disney vacations and I don’t want to brag here, but this has been the very best weekend trip we have EVER planned. Let me tell you all our secrets to booking the most magical Disney weekend you can imagine.
We flew in on Thursday night after work and got into our hotel a little after 8pm. Luckily, we stayed at the Wyndham Lake Buena Vista Disney Resort Hotel which is literally steps from Disney Springs. We dumped our bags in our stunning pool view room and headed over to Disney Springs. Before I get into what we did over there, I just need to take a second to tell you about our resort. We sing Wyndham Lake’s praises from the rooftops every chance we get! You get the full resort experience (you can see pics of the pool below) at a fraction of the cost of the surrounding resorts. We also LOVE being so close to Disney Springs since it is one of our favorite parts of the Disney experience. Ok so - we walked over to Disney Springs and immediately got a table at Chef Art’s Homecoming Kitchen. I ordered the Thigh High Chicken Biscuits, and they were a DREAM. Then we jumped in line for Gideon’s and were pumped to get some warm cookies before they closed up for the night. Then it was up to our room for some much needed rest before Magic Kingdom in the morning. It is almost Valentine's Day and I know this is a BIG and joyful time in the classroom, so I put together some resources and freebies for you to use with your kiddos! Have fun!
