Well hi everybody! Hopefully you're following along in our Refresh Easter devotional! If not, you can sign up by following the link at the top of the page to catch the last few days! Since, in the devotional, we are talking about ways to refresh our thinking for the new season, here are five fresh finds that are making my life just a little more joyful! You can find links to all these things by clicking the button below their picture!

1. A Recipe

Well these scones are just a dream and that's a fact. Easy to pull together and a huge crowd pleaser, you'll love this recipe. Not to mention that it just so happens to be the perfect thing for Easter morning.
P.S. I skipped grating the butter and just cut it in with a pastry knife like normal and nothing bad happened.

2. A Book

This book came to me via the Bridgetown Church podcast (check it out if you haven't) and it rocking my world. The content here is convicting, thought provoking, and scripture based. For anyone looking to take their practice of faith deeper and, dare I say, more radical, this is for you.

3. A Shoe

I am DESPERATE for a Tory Burch sandal. But am I going to pay hundreds of dollars to get one, no. So in comes this brilliant dupe. I would size up a half size, as they run small, and if your size is out of stock, check back often and snag them when they restock. This might be my go-to summer shoe.

4. A Playlist

Picture
I'm in the habit these days of making playlists that represent my season of life. My hope is that in a few years, I can return to playlists like this one to remember what I was experiencing at that time. I'm pretty proud of this one. It's heavy on the folk and the spring vibes.

5. A Follow

Author of one of my favorite books of last year, Bri McKoy is a joy to follow. Whether it's a recipe or music or just a fresh perspective, I've been so inspired by what she is posting. We become like the people we surround ourselves with, and that includes on social media -- so let's surround ourselves with people who call us up to good and growth.

Today's Text: John 4:13-26
As part of our work at our church, one of our sweet pastors challenged us to take a growth inventory. He suggested we rate ourselves on a scale of one to ten in each of the following categories: Faith Life (Jesus time), Marriage, Family, Office, Digital , Ministry, Financial, Social, Attitudinal , Creative, Travel, and Physical.

As Ben and I drove down the road, we took stock of how we were doing in these areas. As we talked along, I was feeling pretty satisfied with my ratings. Until....we got to “attitude.” I felt that immediate, pit of the stomach feeling of conviction. I knew immediately that this was an area where I had allowed worldly behavior and exhaustion and sometimes complaining to chip away at my joyful attitude until the honest rating here, was a four. Well I knew it was time to breathe in some new life. And often, when it comes to mindset, new life looks like gratitude to me. When busyness feels suffocating, that’s just the time to remember what an honor it is to be so involved. When family or friend relationships seem challenging, it’s time to consider the blessing our people are in our lives. And when our relationship with Jesus feels tired, we all need to call on Jesus to re-introduce us to the living water we have within us, the kind that never dries up and never leaves us wanting.

Joy is always accessible to us, we only need ask.

How would you rate your attitude lately? Where do you need to pour living water over dry places? Invite Holy Spirit to speak truth and bring new life to your mindset.
Today's Song: "Awakening" by Amanda Lindsey Cook
Dear Jesus, this is a season of celebrating your victory over death. I want to ready myself like never before by inviting Holy Spirit to breathe fresh air into the dead or dying places of my heart. I pray today for revelation about where you would like to see fresh starts in my life. Adjust my attitude. Make me anxious to seek after you and to find you. Show me how to submerge myself in your living waters, body, mind, and spirit. Amen.
